As the 3rd largest island in the Caribbean, Jamaica offers more resort choices from all inclusive to villa resorts. And to every type of traveler. As you fly into the airport in Montego Bay the main hub for tourism in Jamaica that varied area it is from hills to the beach. On your way out of the city going towards Runaway Bay & Ocho Rios there is the quiet area of Rose Hall. Here you will find the Ritz Carlton Resort and Iberostar Resorts plus some of the best golfing on the island. Traveling towards Ocho Rios there is the popular waterfall, Dunn's River Falls. Here you have the luxury resorts of Jamaica Inn and Royal Plantation to the family friendly economical RIU Ocho Rios. Majority of the resorts on the north part of the island from Montego Bay past Ocho Rios have beaches only in front of their resort. Many resorts are already booking weddings for well into 2009. Plus this gives you more time to send the information for your guests who need to plan their time off. Jamaica Wedding Requirements

Couples can be married outside of 24 hour after arriving however many resorts and wedding planners have different requirements due to the procedures to obtain the marriage license. Many will require a 2 or 3 business day arrival prior to the wedding date not including your travel date. Your Certified Destination Wedding Planner will supply to you the correct rules per various venues that meet what you are looking for.

The cost of a license is either included within your resort's wedding package or a separate charge. Please ask your Certified Destination Wedding Specialist for the current cost.

Jamaica does not expect you take a blood test before getting married.

Many resorts will ask that you file paper work with them no later then 30 days in advance. This includes the following documentation is required for a U.S. Citizen, if you do not please advise us:

-Proof of citizenship - certified copy of birth certificate, which includes father’s name.
-Parent’s written consent if under 18 years of age.
-Proof of divorce if applicable (original certificate of divorce).
-Certified copy of death certificate for widow or widower.
