Antigua Weddings

Trips Down The Aisle - Weddings on the go! has been working with destination wedding couples to the Caribbean for the past 10 years.  All of our consultants are Certified Destination Wedding Specialists by the Destination Wedding Association  plus the various island's Tourism Boards and member of the Caribbean Tourism Organization.  We value our expert knowledge to the Caribbean.

Antigua is home to gorgeous beaches one for each day of the week, historic forts and buildings.
The waterfront area of this island’s charming capital, St. John, offers dining and shopping in tropical collored buildings.  What you will not find on this island is many sprawling resorts, as most of the hotels are intimate inns and villas, perfect for your private destination wedding or a wonderfully romantic honeymoon retreat. Antigua’s laid-back atmosphere and hundreds of spectacular beaches will create the perfect ambiance for your wedding in paradise

Wedding Requirements

Documents:

You both will need valid passports as proof of citizenship. Make certain your passport has not expired and is valid for at least six months after your arrival date in Antigua.  We suggest an original copy of your birth certificate (with a raised seal) in addition to your valid passport..

If either of you have been previously married, then bring along the original divorce decree. A widow(er) must bring both the original marriage and death certificates. These documents must have the raised seal from the court, because photocopies are not acceptable.

Fees:

The fees are normally handle through the resorts that we work with however if you are looking for a private villa wedding then you must apply in person.  The registration fee of US$40 must be paid in person at the courthouse in the government building on Queen Elizabeth Highway. The application fee for the special marriage license is US$150, and the Marriage Officer's fee is US$50.

The Ministry of Legal Affairs is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm. Flights which arrive into Antigua after 3 pm will not permit couples to get to the Ministry of Justice in time to apply for the Special Marriage License. In such cases, the couple can arrange for the marriage to take place either the next day after completing the application process, or, on any available day thereafter

Your marriage must also be solemnized or celebrated in the presence of two or more witnesses, apart from the Marriage Officer. (Just ask a guest or two to do this for you).

There is no waiting period for Antigua weddings.

Resorts

We use both all inclusive, traditional resorts and private villas throughout the island.  All the signs pointed towards Antigua. TheÊ island had warm, steady winds, a complex coastline of safe harbors, and a protective, nearly unbroken wall of coral reef. It would make a perfect place to hide a fleet. And so in 1784 the legendary Admiral Horatio Nelson sailed to Antigua and established Great Britain's most important Caribbean base. Little did he know that over 200 years later the same unique characteristics that attracted the Royal Navy would transform Antigua and Barbuda in one of the Caribbean's premier tourist destinations.

Here is a few pictures of the resorts that we work with.
